Description

Dictyoglomus turgidum (strain Z-1310) is an extremely thermophilic bacterium isolated from a hot spring in the Uzon volcano caldera in Kamchatka. It is the type strain. It degrades cellulose, pectin, starch, but grows only weakly on solid polysaccharides, including microcrystalline cellulose. (EBI Integr8)
